Dental bridges are a popular solution for replacing teeth lost on a single side of your mouth (generally, 1 to 4 teeth). A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by joining them to an adjacent tooth or teeth. This is an informal, no-obligation chat about your options, and we welcome any questions you have. No question is too small when you are considering tooth replacement treatment. We value spending time with our patients to make sure they are not rushed and come to a considered decision about how to proceed.
Digital scans, X-rays and a full examination of your mouth are carried out. This information helps us to establish your suitability for a dental bridge. Bridges require the support of healthy teeth on both sides of the gap – your dentist will check to see if your teeth can provide this support. Whatever the outcome of your examination, we will help you find a way to address gaps in your teeth.
The damaged portion of the tooth is removed, and some additional tooth structure may need to be removed to create adequate space for your bridge. A scan is then taken to provide the basis for the shape of the new crowns for your bridge. Your dentist will ensure the crowns are a match for your natural tooth shade.
Your bridge is then fitted at a later date after being made in a laboratory.
